Stan Shebs loves going to the Rose Gardens whenever he's in town, so I tagged along to see what it was all about. We met at 7.30 (!!!) one morning, snapped a few photos, learned a little history of roses, and watched airplanes go overhead. Unfortunately we missed prime rose blossoming by a few weeks so some of them were looking a little deady but there were still many that were going strong. I'd loaned out my macro lens so I made a little challenge of using only the 80-200mm f2.8 and 14mm f2.8 for this trip. Plus a monopod and fold-out reflector thing, of course.
